MANHATTAN — The opening tip went to Kansas State, and Wesley Iwundu had the ball in his hands.
Iwundu drove to the basket and missed the shot, but he controlled the rebound and stepped outside to drain a 3-point shot.
A drive, an offensive rebound, a jump shot.
Coach Bruce Weber said Iwundu, the most experienced Wildcat, needs to be a “stat stuffer” and he certainly filled the bill in that opening sequence and throughout the game as K-State debuted its rebuilt team with an 80-42 exhibition victory over Emporia State on Friday at Bramlage Coliseum.
