Tyler Moore steps up as leader for K-State baseball team

MANHATTAN — A catcher becomes accustomed to playing in pain, taking foul balls off every part of his body.

“It’s part of the position,” said Kansas State catcher Tyler Moore. “Sometimes you get foul balls off the toe, off the arm or whatever. You just have to play through it.”

Moore accepts that part of the game, but he had a scary moment Tuesday when he was hit by a pitch on the left wrist in a game against Nebraska.

“It’s always a scary thing getting hit with an up-and-in fastball like that,” he said. “I was pretty afraid when I was in the dugout.
