DURHAM, N.C. — Led by senior Kyle Weldon and sophomore transfer Oscar Spolander, the Kansas State men’s golf team turned in a final-round score of 20-over-par 308 Sunday to finish eighth in the Rod Myers Invitational at the par-72, 7,136-yard Duke University Club.
The Wildcats finished with a 54-hole score of 25-over 889.
Weldon led K-State throughout the event, as he notched three birdies and carded an even-par 72 on Sunday. The senior finished the tournament in a tie for fifth at 2-under-par 214. Spolander, a transfer from West Texas A&M, highlighted the final round for the Wildcats, as he tallied four birdies and carded a 1-under 71 in Sunday’s final round.
