Two games, one win

Kansas State beat #7/#8 West Virginia 79-75 yesterday at Bramlage Coliseum. It took a Barry Brown steal with 25 seconds left to win the game after a late charge by the Mountaineers put the result in doubt. Jon Morse has more in his recap: Kansas State survives roller coaster.

Taking a page from the “Press Virginia” book, the Wildcats played great defense and forced West Virginia into 23 turnovers, going 25-15 in points off turnovers (Ken Corbitt, Topeka Capital-Journal).

This was Kansas State’s first win over a ranked team in four tries, and was a much-needed signature win and a huge confidence boost.
