Kelly Thomson wanted to have some kind of ceremonial burning of her knee brace.
The brace had almost become part of Thomson after a pair of devastating injuries her first two seasons at Kansas State.
But now, without the brace and without any pain, the junior guard is determined to not allow the injuries to define her basketball career.
“I feel like I’ve been here so long, when in reality I still have two years left to play, which is awesome,” said Thomson, who has played in 37 games in three seasons. “I do have two years to make something of this now.
