The sack master: Willis lives behind the line for Wildcats

Darren Howard, Nyle Wiren and Dirk Ochs made a living a Kansas State by sacking opposing quarterbacks, each finishing with more than 24 in their careers.

Now Wildcat defensive end Jordan Willis is hot on their heels.

Willis has 22.5 sacks in his career, moving up the K-State career charts quickly with eight sacks in the last 11 games.

He entered the career top 10 this season with two sacks at West Virginia then added two more against Texas Tech. In the Wildcats’ game against Texas on Saturday, Willis tallied seven tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss, a pass breakup and a forced fumble to earn Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career.
