Stanton Weber another K-State walk-on success story

The decision to join a Division I football program as a walk-on is often met with skepticism. It’s a long-shot for the player to remain on the team for four or five years, let alone to ever get in a game.

When Stanton Weber decided he wanted to walk-on at Kansas State, the doubters included his father, Stan. It’s not that Stan questioned Stanton’s tenacity, but as a former K-State quarterback he knew the odds facing his son.

Stanton beat the odds, becoming a special teams stalwart and eventually earning a scholarship. As he enters his senior season, he also is in the mix for playing time at wide receiver for the Wildcats.
