Special delivery: Special teams a consistent factor for K-State

MANHATTAN — The affinity Bill Snyder holds for special teams is well known. It’s an equal third phase of football along with offense and defense.

“We probably work the longest on special teams, just to emphasize how important it is,” said Kansas State cornerback D.J. Reed.

Where did it begin for Snyder, when he first realized the value of special teams?

“Probably when I was in high school and found out that was the only thing I could get on, was special teams,” Snyder quipped.

“It’s just always been ingrained in me because it really is such a major part.
