Because this happened: Kansas State beat Kansas 1-0 in the historical first match between the two schools. This was the Wildcats’ first Big 12 win ever, and that it would come against their in-state rivals made it that much sweeter. They also played in front of the largest crowd (2,514) ever to witness an NCAA Division I soccer match in Kansas, beating last year’s record of 2,403 set in Manhattan when Kansas State hosted Northern Iowa.
The match’s lone goal came in the 47th minute when Hannah Davis took a pass from midfielder Katie Cramer and ran the ball into the goal.
