There’s really only one story worth discussing today, although we will hit some brief notes afterward. There’s been a tragedy in Manhattan, as K-State‘s top coxswain, Samantha Scott, died Sunday after a sudden illness.
Scott was a senior architectural engineering major, and had been a key member of the team for her entire career at K-State. Helming both the 1v8 and 1v4 crews, she earned Academic All-Big 12 honors last season. The highlight of Scott’s career was a gold medal at the Head of the Oklahoma during the 2015-16 season. At Fort Morgan (Colo.) High School, Scott lettered multiple years in gymnastics and basketball before accepting K-State’s offer to come try rowing.
