Yes, football buzz abounds after Bill Snyder’s first press conference of the spring, but other K-State athletes actually competed yesterday and very very early today (at least for us...thanks Australia), so we’ll start off with them.
Track & Field
Yesterday, our own Wildcat00 dropped in with two profiles of K-State track stars who are competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
First up was a profile of long jumper Ifeanyi Otuonye, a K-State grad competing for his native Turks and Caicos Islands. Otuonye jumped 8.03m (26’ 4.25”) to earn a spot in the finals, but failed to clear that mark earlier today and finished 9th with a long jump of 7.
