Erik Kynard is returning to Kansas State’s track and field team as an assistant coach, the school announced Monday.
Kynard, a two-time Olympian, was a standout high jumper with the Wildcats. He won a pair of outdoor national championships and then went on to take silver at the 2012 Olympic games in London.
He most recently competed in the Rio Olympics, but fell short of a medal.
Kynard will now help K-State track and field coach Cliff Rovelto teach student-athletes.
“We are really excited to have Erik back as part of the team,” Rovelto said in a statement released by K-State.
