A few days ago at practice, Dante Barnett looked around the field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. He let it sink in that Saturday against Kansas will be his last time playing on that field — and man, how time flies.
“I’ve watched a lot of senior classes leave me in the past while I was playing, and it’s finally my time,” Barnett said. “It’s different for me.”
After last year’s season-ending injury in the first half of the season opener, K-State’s senior safety known as “Grandpa” got another shot at a final year.
“It’s bittersweet knowing that it’s going to be my last time playing in this stadium in front of our fans,” Barnett said.
