Dante Barnett planned to lead Kansas State’s defense for one last season and then take his shot at the NFL.
But nothing went according to plan last season for the K-State safety.
Barnett went down with a shoulder injury early in the first game of the 2015-16 season and he didn’t put on a K-State uniform again for the next eight months, returning to the Wildcat lineup in last Saturday’s spring game.
Barnett, who made one tackle on Saturday, said he didn’t know how bad he hurt his shoulder when the injury occurred.
“At first I thought it was a little stinger,” he said.
