For the second straight week, a Kansas State volleyball player was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week, as Alyssa Schultejans picked up her first-career honor on Monday.
A product of Silver Lake High School, Schultejans led all Big 12 freshmen last week in kills (3.33), points (3.67) and aces (0.33) per set, helping lead K-State to its fourth straight win with a sweep of Texas Tech Saturday night.
Schultejans had 10 kills against the Red Raiders, as the outside hitter was one of only two attackers in the match to reach double digits. She also added six digs (one shy of her career-high) and her team-leading 20th ace of the season.
