Pullen, Purple and Black, win Tournament opener

Former Kansas State guard Jacob Pullen scored 24 points to help Purple and Black come from behind and win their opening game in The Basketball Tournament, 85-82, in Chicago.

After trailing by three at halftime, the Purple and Black — a team made up mostly of K-State men’s basketball alums — rallied to take a 72-71 lead over The Region with 4:53 to play. They held on the rest of the way.

Pullen’s team-high 24 points led the way, while Jordan Henriquez had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Lance Harris and Martavious Irving each scored 13 points, and Akeem Wright finished with 12.
