Nigel Johnson, who is transferring from Kansas State, has orally committed to continue his basketball career at Rutgers.
Johnson, a sophomore guard, announced April 8 he was leaving K-State. He will sit out next season and have two years of eligibility at Rutgers, a member of the Big Ten Conference.
Johnson, who played both the point and shooting guard spots in his two seasons at K-State, averaged 5.2 points and 1.6 rebounds this past season with 55 assists, 32 turnovers and 32 steals. The 6-foot-1 native of Auburn, Va., played in all 32 games, making seven starts.
