MANHATTAN — After allowing 35 points against Iowa State in the first half, Kansas State’s maligned defense allowed the Wildcats to make history in the final two quarters Saturday.
K-State pitched a second-half shutout — forcing four key Iowa State fumbles along the way — to give its offense the opportunity to rally from a 21-point deficit and claim a 38-35 victory that tied the school record for largest comeback in program history.
The performance came just days after coach Bill Snyder instructed his players to review the program’s 16 goals for success. No 10 on that list: Never give up.
