K-State president Richard Myers Thursday appointed a committee to find the university’s next athletics director.
The committee will search for a replacement for athletics director John Currie, who will take the same position at the University of Tennessee on April 1. Currie has served in the position at K-State since 2009.
K-State deputy AD and Manhattan native Laird Veatch was named acting AD on Tuesday.
K-State Alumni Association President and CEO Amy Button Renz will lead the committee. The committee will begin to work on a national search immediately and plans to announce a new AD later in the spring.
