Former K-State pitcher Levi MaVorhis signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Cardinals and was assigned to the organization’s rookie affiliate, the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League.
A four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats, MaVorhis logged the most wins, innings and strikeouts for K-State from 2013-16. The right-hander was a member of the 2013 Big 12 championship-winning team and appeared in 10 or more games in each of his four campaigns. He led the team in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched as a sophomore and senior.
A native of Freeland, Washington, MaVorhis finished in the program’s top-10 for career wins (T-4th, 19), games started (4th, 37), innings pitched (6th, 247.
