Man, 32, pleads guilty in death of former K-State football player David Garrett

CLEVELAND — The man accused of fatally shooting a former Kansas State University football player outside a Cleveland nightclub has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Cleveland.com reports (http://bit.ly/2aIH86n ) 32-year-old Barry Blevins entered the plea Monday in the October 2014 slaying of 26-year-old David Garrett. The case was scheduled to go to trial Monday morning.

Authorities say Garrett was struck in the chest when Blevins fired into a crowd after a fight that began in a nightclub spilled outside.

Garrett earned All-Big 12 honorable mention honors as a Kansas State defensive back in 2010 and 2011.
