Longhorns hand Cats 8th straight Big 12 loss

K-State surrendered a pair of home runs to Kody Clemens and Kacy Clemens while its offense was held to one unearned run on four hits in the first six innings by Morgan Cooper as the Wildcats lost the series opener to the Longhorns, 6-3, on Friday at Tointon Family Stadium.

The Wildcats lost their seventh straight game to open the Big 12 season due to Texas opening up a 6-1 lead by the seventh inning. The Longhorns, who had 12 hits, had a baserunner in every inning but stranded 11.
