Local sports briefs for Nov. 1: Ten city volleyball players named to all-state tournament teams

Ten city high school volleyball players have been honored by the Kansas Volleyball Association with spots on the all-state tournament teams for their respective classes.

Hayden, which won the Class 4A Division II state championship, put five players on the all-tournament team — seniors Mariah Grunert, Raven Lawlor and Taylor Otting, sophomore Amanda Desch and freshman Brooklyn Hunter. Shawnee Heights, which finished third in 5A, is represented on the all-tourney team by senior Mikala Wells and juniors Megan Cooney, Faith Rottinghaus and Jazz Sweet. Washburn Rural is represented on the 6A all-tournament team by senior Jordyn Musselman.
