Local sports briefs for May 22: OU knocks K-State out of Big 12 baseball tourney

Robert Tasin hit a go-ahead single with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, and Oklahoma edged Kansas State 3-1 on Friday night in a pool-play elimination game at the Big 12 Tournament in Tulsa, Okla.

With the game tied at 1, Colbey Carpenter led off with a single off Kansas State starter Corey Fischer (4-6), who was then replaced by Lucas Benenanti. After Carpenter was bunted over to second, Benenanti got a strikeout before throwing a wild pitch that allowed Carpenter to move to third.
