Laird Veatch honored to get dream job at K-State — even on interim basis

Former Wildcat football player working closely with President Myers while serving as acting AD

MANHATTAN — Growing up in Manhattan, Laird Veatch dreamed of playing football at Kansas State. That became a reality when Veatch was part of coach Bill Snyder’s first recruiting class, playing for the Wildcats from 1990-94.

It wasn’t until his playing career was winding down that another dream began to develop.

Veatch had an interest in athletic administration and that path brought him back to K-State. On Tuesday, he was named interim athletic director when John Currie left to become AD at Tennessee.
