The seventh-ranked Kansas State equestrian team fought until the very end, but fell short on Saturday afternoon at Timbercreek Stables as the Wildcats was defeated by No. 1 Auburn, 10-9, on Senior Day.
The Wildcats fell short in the Hunt Seat arena, 7-3, but claimed the Western arena, 6-3.
The Wildcats took home two out of the four Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors: in Equitation on the Flat by junior Taylor Schmidt and in Reining by sophomore Kali Retzler.
K-State came out fighting at the beginning of the day in Equitation over Fences as they dropped a 4-1 decision against the Tigers.
