MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Kody Cook never thought he would be in this position: The position of starting quarterback for Kansas State.
Cook started 22 games in his two-year career at K-State, but 21 were at wide receiver. The senior from Louisburg concluded his career in the Liberty Bowl on Saturday as the Wildcats’ quarterback in a 45-23 loss to Arkansas.
Cook served as the back-up to starter Joe Hubener, an emergency fill-in after Game 1 starter Jesse Ertz was injured in that game and freshman Alex Delton went down a week later.
“I was just trying to do whatever I can for my team and fit in wherever they need me to fit, and it just happened to be at quarterback the last couple of games,” Cook said.
