Kevin Haskin's Tackling Dummy: Graham's last game with K-State resulted in tie 65 years ago

TRIP IN TIME

65 YEARS AGO/DEC. 2, 1950

K-STATE 6, WICHITA 6

WICHITA — Ralph Graham earned All-America recognition as a fullback for Kansas State and still ranks among the all-time top 10 Wildcats in scoring with 196 points from 1931-33.

Not bad for that era — a career that encouraged fans when Graham was named the Kansas State head coach in 1948. That promise quickly faded, however, as Graham went 4-26-1 in three seasons, closing out that run with a 6-6 tie against Wichita at chilly Veterans Field.

Graham took over at K-State after coaching three seasons at Wichita and directing the Shockers to the 1948 Raisin Bowl.
