MANHATTAN — Bill Snyder went out on a positive note.
Well, at least everyone thought it was the last game the Kansas State legend would coach after he announced his retirement on the final week of the 2005 season.
“I’m spent,” said Snyder, who left with a 136-68-1 record before returning to coach the Wildcats in 2009. “It’s been a far different week than I had anticipated. It’s been a hard week and a very emotional time.”
K-State finished 5-6 overall and 2-6 in the Big 12 after breaking a five-game winning streak with the comeback win over the Tigers.
