Kevin Haskin: Without Jesse Ertz, other quarterbacks split reps for K-State at spring practice

Snyder leans more on individual evaluations while watching Alex Delton engineer first string

MANHATTAN – Results from spring football practice seem rather incomplete if the starting quarterback is missing.

And at Kansas State, Bill Snyder will not disagree that Jesse Ertz is the starting QB.

Ertz started every game a year ago, engineered the Wildcats to a 9-4 finish capped by an MVP performance in the Texas Bowl. He then underwent surgery to repair a bum shoulder he played with much of the season.

Based on the punishment Ertz was dealt as a 1,000-yard rusher who accounted for yardage on 50.
