MANHATTAN – Last weekend, Michael Bishop was back to where he turned heads while playing football.
He returned to Kansas State to participate in ceremonies as an inductee into the university’s athletics hall of fame.
Once again, anyone who watched Bishop quarterback the Wildcats in 1997 and ’98 – I covered every game -- was reminded of his powerful arm and powerful legs, and how he revolutionized the sport while playing on two incredibly gifted 11-win teams.
Mitch Holthus, a longtime sportscaster for the Wildcats who joined Bishop in the 2016 induction class into the K-State hall, had just begun calling Kansas City Chiefs games back then.
