MANHATTAN – At some point the halftime message had to be growing stale.
Kansas State went in at the break Saturday trailing by three touchdowns. It had not led a football game over the last 20 quarters, a span of more than 306 minutes.
Now it was at home, in Snyder Family Stadium, faced with another desperate situation.
Try to rally that many times, only to fail, and the comeback required to beat Iowa State looked impossible.
Turns out, it was only improbable. Somehow, K-State prevailed 38-35.
“You wonder if you can,’’ said defensive tackle Will Geary, “but you don’t doubt yourself.
