Keep an eye on Josh Rivas and these other unsung K-State football players

Kansas State will have one of the nation’s most experienced offensive lines this football season, but that doesn’t mean Wildcats coach Bill Snyder has promised playing time to any of the team’s five returning starters up front.

That would be foolish, he said, considering the up-and-coming blockers on K-State’s roster who seem poised to challenge Scott Frantz, Abdul Beecham, Adam Holtorf, Tyler Mitchell and Dalton Risner during preseason practices next month.

It may be tempting to write that off as coach-speak, given how hard Snyder pushes for competition at every position, but he seems genuinely intrigued by some of the young talent currently at his disposal.
