MANHATTAN — The Kansas State women’s basketball team pulled away from Texas Tech early in Sunday’s game at Bramlage Coliseum, notching a 23-8 first-half run on the way to a 65-53 win.
Forward Breanna Lewis scored 12 of her game-high 14 points during that stretch.
The Lady Raiders (11-15, 2-13 Big 12) attempted only two free throws in the first half and also made just 28.1 percent of their shots from the field. For the game they shot 33.3 percent from the floor, including 30.4 percent from 3-point range. Texas Tech coach Candi Whitaker credited K-State’s defense for some of her team’s problems.
