The Cyclones led 35-14 at halftime and appeared to win the game when they forced stopped a K-State drive on downs with 82 seconds remaining. Leading 35-28, all they had to do to secure victory was run out the clock, but they were unable to take care of business.
Iowa State running back Mike Warren fumbled on the next play and K-State linebacker Elijah Lee came away with the ball, giving the Wildcats life at midfield.
