Frightening thoughts entered Bruce Weber’s mind near the end of Kansas State’s 68-66 victory against South Carolina State on Sunday at Bramlage Coliseum.
As the Bulldogs mounted a comeback push in the final minutes, K-State’s basketball coach couldn’t help but think back to a shocking loss to Texas Southern that occurred in this building last season. K-State did everything wrong that day and lost 58-56, an ugly result that in many ways summed up a disappointing year.
The final score was more favorable this time. Every time South Carolina State made a push, K-State answered and held on to win.
