Kansas State gives women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie contract extension

Kansas State women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie has signed a three-year contract extension that will run through 2022, the school announced Tuesday.

Mittie’s salary will jump to $475,000 next season and increase $25,000 annually. He was scheduled to earn $425,000 next season under the terms of his original contract. A retention bonus of $100,000 was also added to his new deal, which he will receive if he is still coaching at K-State on April 14, 2019. Overall, his new six-year contract is worth $3.56 million, plus performance bonuses.

“Coach Mittie has done a great job of reinvigorating our women’s basketball program,” said K-State athletic director John Currie in a statement, “and I believe he and his excellent staff are well on their way to returning K-State to the highest level of competition, both in the Big 12 and nationally.
