The Kansas State Wildcats finished year one of the Chris Klieman era with an 8-4 record and the opportunity to play a 13th game. While the Liberty Bowl isn’t the marquee bowl game that K-State fans were hoping for, being bowl eligible in the first year of a head coach’s tenure is nothing to be ashamed of.
The Wildcats get a unique opportunity this weekend too. Their opponent in the Liberty Bowl (which takes place on New Year’s Eve) is Navy, who is playing in the annual Army-Navy game on Saturday.
Navy, who finished the year at 9-2 and ranked 23rd in the country, squares off against the 5-7 Army team in what’s sure to be a memorable battle once again.
