Kansas State ‘doing due diligence’ in case Bill Snyder retires

Kansas State Wildcats coach Bill Snyder just turned 76 and there are rumors that he may retire after the season, so the university is “doing its due diligence” regarding candidates to replace him if that becomes a reality according to a report from Gridiron Now.

The report names three possible candidates: Utah State’s Matt Wells, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and Colorado defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt. Venables and Leavitt are both former Wildcats assistants, but Wells is a younger face at age 42 who has done great things with the Aggies. Leavitt was the coach at South Florida for years, but was forced out in 2009 following allegations of player mistreatment.
