Per a staff report in the Star, the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame announced its class of 2016 yesterday, and K-State is well-represented. On October 2 at the Wichita Boathouse, 12 people will be inducted, with former Wildcats safety Jaime Mendez and Lithuanian Olympian heptathlete Austra Skujyte highlighting the selections for K-State. The late Steve Anson is also being honored, although the honor is arguably more for his service as Washburn's head baseball coach than for his admittedly stellar collegiate career in Manhattan. Perhaps most likely to kick you in the feels, though, is the pending induction of the newest member of the K-State family.
