Kamau Stokes saved the day.
Right when it looked like the Kansas State Wildcats were headed for one of their most humbling basketball defeats in recent memory, the senior point guard caught fire and led his team to a come-from-behind victory 55-51 over Southern Mississippi on Wednesday at Bramlage Coliseum.
He led the turnaround by hitting a mid-range jumper with Southern Miss leading 35-19 early in the second half. The basket was met with little enthusiasm at the time, but then he brought the home crowd to life by swishing back-to-back threes. K-State was suddenly back in the game.
