In the on-going search for more scoring and fluid play in college basketball, the latest part of the solution is a shorter shot clock.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee recommended Friday reducing the shot clock from 35 to 30 seconds. The proposal must be approved by the Playing Rules Oversight Committee at its meeting next month.
“We were expecting it,” Kansas State coach Bruce Weber said Friday. “It’s been a big buzz since late in the season. At our Big 12 meetings we were addressed by the commissioner (Bob Bowlsby) and the head of the officials, Curtis Shaw, and they thought it would go in.
