K-State's Morgan Burns experiences highs and lows at cornerback

If there was one lesson Morgan Burns learned a year ago in his first season as a starting cornerback for Kansas State, it was the value of a short memory.

Much like a closer out of the bullpen for a baseball team, success or failure is decided by a narrow margin and is a game-to-game adventure.

That was certainly true for Burns last season against Oklahoma. He was beaten by Sterling Shepard for a game-tying 47-yard touchdown pass in the first half, and Shepard finished the day with 15 receptions for 197 yards. Burns, though, had a career-high eight tackles and his end-zone interception in the third quarter helped preserve K-State’s 31-30 road win over the Sooners.
