Christoff Bryan didn’t have a clean run, putting some pressure on himself with misses, but the Kansas State junior met the challenge and emerged with a first-place finish in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in Eugene, Ore.
Bryan won the national championship by clearing 7 feet, 3 inches to become the sixth Wildcat NCAA Outdoor high jump champion, joining Erik Kynard (2011-12), Scott Sellers (2007-09) and Nathan Leeper (1998).
“I am really happy for this win,” said Bryan, who was second at last year’s NCAA meet.
