MANHATTAN — Brian Rohleder had a high-profile business internship lined up last summer when the Kansas State basketball player received a good news/bad news phone call from coach Bruce Weber.
After four years as a walk-on, Rohleder was being put on scholarship for his senior season. The bad news was Weber wanted him in Manhattan for summer workouts.
“We felt like we needed him here because he was one of the seniors with a positive drive, so that was one of the big decisions to give him a scholarship over the summer,” Weber said. “I told him if he has to take the internship I understood, but he said, ‘I worked my whole life to be part of this.
