MANHATTAN — Kansas State had just put together a 10-3 scoring run and the defense, in fullcourt pressure, forced Stanford into a 10-second backcourt violation.
Wildcat guard Kindred Wesemann turned toward the student section, clapping her hands to get the fans involved. It was the type of scenario that can change a game, but the trouble for K-State is this game was already out of hand.
The Wildcats were down by 18 points at the time and that spurt wasn’t enough to make a difference as Stanford rolled to a 69-48 victory in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Monday at Bramlage Coliseum.
