K-State women’s basketball falls to 1-2 on exhibition tour

SAMORIN, Slovakia — After a three-day stay in Switzerland, the Kansas State women’s basketball team resumed its exhibition tour with an 84-76 loss to pro team BK Samorin on Thursday.

The Wildcats, 1-2 on the trip with one game remaining, led 26-14 after the first quarter but BK Samorin made six 3-point baskets in the second quarter and 13 in the game to come back for the victory.

“We hit some shots during that stretch and we were getting turnovers defensively and creating some offense,” K-State coach Jeff Mittie said of the early lead. “I liked our energy early in this game.
