MANHATTAN — In two years as women’s basketball coach at Kansas State, Jeff Mittie has the program on the fast track.
The Wildcats reached the WNIT in Mittie’s first year, and last season they advanced to the NCAA Tournament and won a first-round game over George Washington before losing to regional No. 1 seed South Carolina.
As the Wildcats began practice Monday for the 2016-17 season, Mittie puts no limitations on his team.
“I don’t ever put limitations on them because you don’t know,” said Mittie, who has a 38-27 record at K-State. “If I would have, I don’t think we would have ended up in the postseason in the first year.
