K-State women's basketball adds Alabama transfer Karyla Middlebrook

MANHATTAN — Kansas State women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie added experience to the backcourt for next season, announcing Monday the addition of graduate transfer Karyla Middlebrook from Alabama.

Middlebrook is a 5-foot-7 guard from Blue Springs, Mo., who started 70 of 72 career games at Alabama. This past season she averaged 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and a team-high 2.7 assists for the Crimson Tide, ranking No. 9 in the SEC in free throw percentage (.750) and No. 11 in steals (1.7 a game). She will have two years of eligibility at K-State.

“She is a terrific student-athlete that possesses the skills, experience and leadership qualities that we were looking for,” Mittie said.
