K-State women’s basketball striving for fun on the court

Kayla Goth takes pride in being disciplined on every play.

But that’s not something the sophomore guard learned on the court.

Goth is a black belt in tae kwon do, an achievement she picked up when she was 15.

She would hit the studio four to five days a week, but it wasn’t tough to balance with basketball.

“The majority of stuff I learned with martial arts was stuff that I could put onto the basketball court,” Goth said.

Head coach Jeff Mittie thinks Goth is in a good place basketball-wise right now.

“Her pace of play is very good,” Mittie said.
